Job Title: Wire EDM Programmer

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wire EDM Programmer to join our precision manufacturing team. This role is responsible for creating and optimizing Wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) programs and processes used to manufacture complex components and tooling. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of wire EDM machines, CAD/CAM software, and a background in tool & die or precision machining.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program, set up, and operate Wire EDM machines (e.g., Sodick, Mitsubishi, AgieCharmilles).

• Create detailed and efficient programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

• Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and geometric tolerances.

• Maintain tight tolerances and surface finishes as specified by the design.

• Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, optical comparators, etc.).

• Troubleshoot and optimize EDM programs to improve quality, cycle times, and tool life.

• Maintain machine cleanliness and preventive maintenance schedules.

• Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and quality teams to meet project timelines and specifications.

• Document setup sheets, tooling lists, and operational procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or apprenticeship in Machining or Tool & Die preferred.

• 3+ years of experience programming and operating Wire EDM machines.

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software used for EDM programming.

• Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining principles.

• Experience with tool steels, carbide, and other exotic materials.

• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
