Job Summary
Provide customer service by assisting with the care of patients, clients, and students who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes. Duties may include patient-related and non-patient-related activities. Assist patients and therapists/assistants in outpatient, inpatient, long term care, school, wellness, and home health settings. Provide prevention and wellness services including screening and health promotion.
Key Responsibilities
• Patient Care:
• Apply or check armband for patient identification and assist patient filling out registration and health questionnaire paperwork as needed.
• Assist patient with dressing, transfers, and transport to/from the therapy department.
• Prepare and place equipment and supplies for therapy sessions, transport medical equipment, apply thermal modalities.
• Disinfect treatment areas and change linens after patient contact.
• Assist with patient care as instructed by therapists or assistants with supervision of a therapist or assistant.
• Complete recreational activities with skilled inpatients as directed by Activities Director, Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Office and cleaning tasks:
• Complete office tasks, operate office equipment, retrieve and/or file documentation, answer and transfer calls, and take and deliver messages.
• Maintain and keep equipment clean.
• Monitor and document proper working order of equipment in department.
• Keep Supervisor apprised of supply needs and equipment issues in a timely manner.
• Perform cleaning tasks according to department checklist. Move therapy equipment for periodic deep cleaning by PMC housekeeping staff.

Qualifications
• Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in the health care field preferred or currently studying a therapy field.
