Georgia-Pacific is seeking qualified professionals for a Process Control Engineer position at our Monticello, MS mill. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic and economic thinking, possess strong problem-solving skills, and enjoy cross-organizational collaboration. This role supports the DCS systems throughout the mill, focusing on designing and implementing control improvements, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting control systems. Our Team

Monticello is a fully integrated containerboard mill with 450 employees, benefiting from significant capital investments. It offers opportunities for growth within a rapidly expanding organization. Located 25 minutes west of Brookhaven, MS, and near Jackson and Hattiesburg, MS.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with mill personnel to identify and resolve process control issues.


2. Optimize and support process operations, troubleshoot control systems.


3. Assist maintenance and project engineering teams with system troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning.


4. Develop modifications to enhance safety, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.


5. Support the OSI PI data historian and generate process reports.


6. Monitor control system metrics and identify improvement opportunities.


7. Manage multiple projects effectively and share on-call responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or 5+ years of process control experience in industrial settings.


• Experience with Emerson DeltaV control systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pulp and paper mills, paper machine controls, QCS systems.


• Knowledge of APCs, VFD drives, Allen Bradley PLCs.


• Experience with system installation, startup, alarm management, cybersecurity, OT support, and network architecture.
