The Role

We seek an Associate for our Capital Network team, supporting our Enterprise & American Dynamism (AD) verticals. This role involves guiding portfolio companies through capital raising, M&A, and capital markets transactions, providing value to our portfolio companies, investment team, and broader operating teams through collaboration.

This position requires in-office presence from Tuesday to Thursday in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist portfolio companies with transactional work including capital raising and M&A advisory.
• Perform valuation analyses for investments and M&A.
• Coordinate and execute financing and strategic processes.
• Create presentation materials for internal and external audiences.
• Conduct primary research on industry developments and trends.
• Perform company and industry research, KPI analysis, and benchmarking.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2-4 years of corporate finance experience, including corporate development, investment banking, M&A, management consulting, or related roles.
• Knowledge of corporate finance, financial modeling, and data analytics.
• Ability to build trust with team members, entrepreneurs, and networks.
• High emotional intelligence, collaboration skills, and adaptability.
• Strong communication, presentation, and multitasking skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a technical field preferred.

The salary range is $184,000 - $214,000, with actual pay based on experience and skills. The role offers participation in the a16z Carry program, bonuses, and benefits including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K, and paid time off.
