Tuesday - Saturday 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications) : Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or Licensed Psychiatric Technology preferred
One (1) year experience with SED children OR 40 hours on the job training
One (1) year medication administration experience and/or Associate degree, preferred
Valid California LVN or LPT License
Current CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
How you will make a difference (job overview):
The LVN or LPT provides direct client care including administration of medications and wound care. Completes nursing assessments on new clients and when clients require such assessments. Maintains vigilance over the general milieu within the facility to facilitate quality client care, optimum facility operations and preserve the safety of all therein. Work with physicians and social workers to secure informed consent for medication from parents, courts, conservators, etc. Take physician orders for medications denial of rights, medical procedures, lab work, x-rays, etc. and make sure each order is implemented. Visually and audibly observes physical and psychiatric conditions and reports changes to the Charge RN or the Psychiatrist or other Medical Doctor on call in the absence of the Charge RN or DON. Order and ensure on-going supply of individual medications for each child.

Serving up to 60 adolescents (ranging from ages 12-17) statewide
Intensive residential services dedicated to serving clients with serious mental health problems with the highest dignity and quality of services since 1988
Programs: Psychiatric Health Facility, Community Treatment Facility and Non-Public High School - 24/7 locked facility
