Position Summary: The evening custodian/janitor is an integral part of keeping our campus functioning at an optimal level. The person ensures that facilities are kept clean and sanitary on a nightly basis so that campus is ready for staff and students the following work day. They may also be called upon to do extra cleaning for events/etc. Outside their normal evening hours.

General duties:
Maintain school cleanliness and sanitariness to ensure full and productive use of facilities
Ensure all activities conform to school guidelines
Adhere to all school health and safety policies
Communicate effectively with all members of the school community
Support the value of education
Appropriately operate all equipment and machinery as necessary
Support the philosophy and vision of ISDenver
Specific Responsibility Examples: Clean floors nightly
Disinfect hard surfaces, drinking fountains, etc.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles in the appropriate locations
Clean entry glass on doors
Clean outside window sills on doors
Wipe down desks/stack chairs
Shampoo rugs as necessary
Perform deep cleans as necessary
Ability to work overtime when emergencies arise in order to prevent disruption of the school
Assist maintenance when necessary
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent
1-2 years experience in janitorial operations
English proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Level B2 required, C1+ preferred (based on Common European Framework of References for Languages) or equivalent certification such as TOEFL or IETLS.
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
Eagerness to engage with co-curricular, extra-curricular, school community, and PTO activities that promote the school's programs and reputation
Lived experience in multicultural settings, including international work experience, and an appreciation and respect for all cultures
Collaborative, team-oriented, globally- and open-minded, innovative, and compassionate
Professionalism, punctuality, reliability, and an ability to exercise sound judgment and analytical and problem solving skills
Technological and computer competency (Google Suite, database management, etc.)
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: Regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, crawl or kneel, climb ladders, and balance. Work may be indoors and outdoors, year-round. Work may involve dust, fumes and odors.
Location and Schedule: Full-time expected work hours are M-F, 6pm-11pm with part time position some variant within these hours. This job does not have remote work flexibility.

Year Round Administrative staff: FTO accrued starting first day of work, 20 days FTO/year as base FTO
